The Railroad Retirement Board is available from Monday through Friday from 9 am to 3:30 pm. Simply call the phone numbers 1-877-772-5772, or for TTY users, dial 1-312-751-4701. Typically, the method of signing-up via online is fast and easy. It will only take you about 10 minutes to complete the process. You can also save money from going personally to the Social Security office. You don’t have to sign any form or be asked to present any documentation. Social Security will take the responsibility to process the application, and you only need to wait for this agency to call you if they need to get some sufficient information from you. Your application will be submitted electronically, allowing you to avoid the hassle of mailing your application. Once you are done, click “Submit Now” and all the information you entered will be sent directly to the Social Security database. Furthermore, you will also receive a printable receipt after the process so that you can keep your record. If you passed the application, you should expect to receive your Medicare card through the mail in about three months before you become 65 years old. But if you are automatically enrolled in this program, you can get it on the 25th month of your disability benefits.
